Parent Family Liaison

FOOTHILL'S PARENT FAMILY LIAISON (pfl)

FOOTHILL'S PARENT FAMILY LIAISON (pfl)

Welcome to Foothill!

My name is Michelle Brown and I am the Parent and Family Liaison here at Foothill (and Hillview Junior High). I was born in San Francisco Ca. and raised in the bayarea.  My family and I moved to Contra Costa county in 2006 when I accepted a Center Director position for John Muir Health.  I moved to Pittsburg in 2011 to buy a home and settled into the community here.  I received my AA in Early childhood development from Merritt College and my BA in Sociology from Cal State East Bay.  I am a wife, a parent(of adult children) and a grandparent.  My grandson is the joy of my life and spending time with family is my favorite past time.  Though I have no children attending in the district, I felt there no better way to serve the community where I live than to work in my local school district after closing my homebased preschool program here in Pittsburg.

I joined the district in 2021 as a clearical substitue and eventually took on a permanent position in the Office of Student services.  I learned so much about the district in that role and am very excited to bring my knowledge and experience to Foothill and build relationships with families.  I am here to ensure that parents, guardians and students have access to workshops, resources and information available her at Foothill and in our community and to to facilitate parent to school communications.

I am very excited to be a part of the Foothill family. I will focus my energies on making a welcoming enviornment and a fun interactive school.

Thank you,

Michelle Brown
